国内的 360 应用下架事件还未结束，今日又爆出 iOS 平台上的热门应用， Path 会自动上传用户完整的通讯簿数据至服务器。

事件源自一位名为 Arun Thampi 的开发者，当他在尝试将 Path 移植到 Mac OS X 时意外发现 Path 会悄悄将用户手机中的通讯簿数据完整上传至 Path 的服务器。其中，被上传的数据包括联系人姓名，电邮地址和电话号码等隐私信息。而这一切都是在用户不知情的情况下发生的。

Path CEO， Dave Morin 也就这条极具杀伤力的消息作出了快速的回应。他表示：“我们（Path) 上传这些数据是为了让用户在 Path 上更快速有效地找到朋友和亲属，并能最快通知他们，别无其他用途。”

虽然，Dave 本人承诺 Path 并未利用这些数据做出任何违背隐私条例的行为，但在用户日益关切隐私数据的今日，我们希望 Path 能作出更好地改进措施和回应。

Arun, thanks for pointing this out. We actually think this is an important conversation and take this very seriously. We upload the address book to our servers in order to help the user find and connect to their friends and family on Path quickly and effeciently as well as to notify them when friends and family join Path. Nothing more.

We believe that this type of friend finding & matching is important to the industry and that it is important that users clearly understand it, so we proactively rolled out an opt-in for this on our Android client a few weeks ago and are rolling out the opt-in for this in 2.0.6 of our iOS Client, pending App Store approval.
